I did a lot of research to find the best surgeon possible, to perform the total revision of my left knee. Dr. Gerlinger is a highly qualified surgeon. I chose Dr. Tad Gerlinger for my partial knee replacement based on the recommendation of a friend, and after being impressed with my initial consultation at Midwest Orthopaedics. Dr. Gerlinger has an amazing resume and experience and I wanted a surgeon who specializes in knee surgery. His staff is incredibly helpful and kind, and the entire process was smooth. The physical therapy is excellent and a key part of recovery. Dr. Gerlinger's practice sends automated texts both pre-surgery and during recovery with timely information and encouragement, which has been very helpful, especially since this is my only experience with knee surgery and I didn't know what to expect. I highly recommend the Midwest Orthopaedics for anyone seeking orthopedic surgery.

I am six weeks post op with -1 degrees of full extension and 130 degrees of flexion. I had little pain after surgery. Was off the oxycodone in two days. I did my exercises but did not struggle. My balance was more difficult. Obviously his skill level and knowledge are responsible for the low levels of pain and full range of motion of the knee. I also appreciated his treatment of me even though I am over 80 years old. Everyone treated me as functional adult. Due to my profession, I did not need his timely messages, I did think they were very helpful and encouraging. While I am thankful that I do not need another knee replacement I would highly recommend to anyone. Actually I have recommended him to my church family, my gym buddies, my friends, etc. I am very grateful for his expertise, his follow up and that he works at Rush.

A most sincere thank you to Dr. Gerlinger and his staff. My partial knee replacement by Dr Gerlinger at the Rush Oakbrook facility was an excellent experience start to finish. Dr. Gerlinger is a consummate professional. He is kind, efficient, knowledgeable, and most of all, incredibly skilled. My pain was minimal, due to his thorough and easily understood medication regimen. I subscribed to his optional text series and loved it. It answered questions before I could ask them, and it was encouraging and supportive. I looked forward to receiving those 2-3 texts every day to see what new information they’d provide. It was a terrific additional service to have. Both Kelly and Alissa have been wonderful to work with. They have been great resources for information. Ilene helped me by phone several times in the most thoughtful and kind way. Truly a wonderful staff of professionals.

I was thrilled with my replacement experience. It was much easier than I thought it would be. Believe it or not I played golf 9 holes in 3.5 weeks after my surgery. I recommend the PT pre therapy it really helped. The Rush therapists were great. Tracy and Noelle had a great plan for my knee.
