On Aug 5th I had my right knee replaced. The surgery went really well and I was up and about right away. His staff was excellent what a great team . I also appreciates Dr’s daily text it kept me motivated . I looked forward to them each day. Thank You for helping me walk again.

My first hip replacement was in December, 2018 and my second hip was done in May, 2019. A friend said that I should be the "poster child for hip replacement" (at my age anyway, 71). That is a testimonial to Dr Gerlinger's skill. I can't believe how well I'm walking. I imagine he has quite a fan club since joining MOR. Check out his many videos; there must be at least 6 or 7. I happen to trust his experience in the Army. Everything went so smoothly from beginning to end. Thanks, Dr Gerlinger, nurses, and staff!

Dr Gerlinger displayed tremendous sensitivity to my knee pain and options prior to surgery. His surgical procedures, patient safety/infection controls and his commitment for maximizing return to normal functioning were exemplary. The communications and connections to his staff were delivered with professionalism, a patient focus and extremely prompt, same day responses. I have the highest regard for Dr Gerlinger and his staff’s skills and patient focus.

If I could give more than five stars to Dr. Gerlinger and his team I would. My hip replacement was a smooth operation from beginning to end. I was anxious before the surgery, but all the informational meetings and Dr. Gerlinger’s team eased my worries. Dr. Gerlinger is attentive, communicates clearly, and cares about his patients. He pays close attention to your individual needs. The daily texts after the surgery were incredibly helpful in knowing where you stand in the recovery process. If you’re looking for a surgeon, you couldn’t be in better hands.

I recently underwent a hip replacement performed by Dr. Tad Gerlinger at Midwest Orthopedics at Rush University Hospital in Chicago. I have nothing but praise for him. Two months after the procedure already I am back to doing all kinds of activities that I wasn’t able to do for years before. Remarkably, despite Dr. Gerlinger having provided me with a full array of pain medications for use after the surgery, I had absolutely no pain and did not need them. Soreness, yes, but pain never. Dr. Gerlinger fully explained my condition and the type of hip replacement he proposed prior to the surgery and patiently answered my questions thereafter. I had a good sense of what to expect. His staff was almost instantly accessible when I called the office, even after hours. After checking in for appointments, waiting time varied from minimal to nonexistent. After more than four months post-op for total knee replacement surgery, I am singing the praises of Dr. Tad Gerlinger and his team! The approach to surgery began with an educational session that highlighted all aspects of the surgery, but most importantly, allowed patients in a small group setting to ask questions about pre-op procedures, the surgery itself, post-op practices and medications. Notably, a pre-op appointments were made for blood work and with physical therapy in preparation for surgery. Physical therapy focused on the use of assistive devices - crutches and cane - in anticipation of hospital discharge. On the day of surgery, the Rush surgical team demonstrated efficiency and care, ensuring my comfort in advance of entering the surgical theater. Immediately following the surgery, Dr. Gerlinger took the time to report on my status and provide assurance to my daughter that all had gone smoothly.This surgery experience was nothing short of miraculous! The basis of comparison was surgery seven years ago with another surgeon that was characterized by prolonged pain, anxiety and limited mobility. Dr. Gerlinger and his team deserve a 10-star rating! I recommend Dr. Gerlinger without reservations.

Dr. Gerlinger replaced my left hip three weeks ago. The day after surgery, I was able to walk without assistance, and I only needed pain meds for the first couple days. Three weeks out, and I need to constantly remind myself to slow down and that I recently had major surgery. I would recommend this surgeon and his outstanding team of nurses to anyone needing joint replacement!
