If you need hip replacement, Dr. Gerlinger and his team is the place to go at Midwest Orthopedics at Rush. I had hip replacement surgery 16 May '23 and his process was comprehensive toward making one whole. Diagnosis, to pre op, surgery, post surgery, all carefully thought out and communicated with the patient. He uses minimally invasive technique, my incision was only 4.5 ". His skill is amazing; my outcome is that I can do almost anything now( 6 weeks post). I found Dr. Gerlinger and his entire team in any situation I had, to be available, caring, knowledgeable and prompt. An example in addition to Dr. Gerlinger's skill, I needed an Rx refilled--called at 8 AM and my Walgreens had it by 10; also I got two text messages every day with helpful information and encouragement.

The first 10 days after surgery I was nauseus, unable to eat, weak and unable to take narcodics. The support team was very helpful with every call I made to them. They thought maybe I had reflux and to get off the narcodics and just take Tylenol 500 and Advil. They suggested I call my primary doctor to get a prescription for a PPI. Once I did that, I was able to eat.Still had Constipation for a couple more days. I Appreciated the daily messages as they related to where I was in my recovery. Actually looked forward to them. I did a lot of pre surgery exercises which seemed to help a lot. The first time I went to p.t. in Rush, they said I did so well that I probably didn't have to come back. I was very weak, sick and tired that I asked to stay a few more days. My knees snapped twice one day. I am in my 6th week since surgery and p.t. told me to start using the cane.. They said I am doing very well. I will be very happy when this pain ends. I would recommend Dr. Gerlinger and his team to others.

My experience with Dr. Gerlinger and his entire group regarding my left hip replacement was second to none!! I have never before experienced such a professional and truly caring group. Dr Gerlinger and staff are exceptional! I have had 2 total knee replacements in 3 months. I can not be happier. My range of motion is about 115 and no pain. I can't believe how my knees feel already. I'm a walker and am excited to get back to my life style. The texts offer so much good information from a Dr who cares about you and your outcome. Daily texts give you encouragement along with links if you need more info. I recommend going to the best. Thank you Dr Gerlinger and Staff.

Having done a lot of research into how to pick the right ortho surgeon and questions to ask, I came across MOR and its plethora of skilled doctors. I then reviewed every bio, checked out every certification, read every review and decided Dr. Gerlinger would be my surgeon if he agreed I needed surgery. He did. MOR is a well-oiled machine -- I had X-rays done before my first appointment was scheduled to begin, then met with his PA before meeting Dr. G. Everyone was knowledgeable and helpful, including Kelly, his nurse, and the office administrator. The pre-op package explains everything in detail; the medicine regimen is incredible and works like a charm if you follow it to the T. Surgery was quick because of the number of hours Dr. G has; his skill and precision became more evident as the days and weeks passed. If you do everything he tells you -- starting before surgery -- you will heal quickly and breeze through PT. Definitely sign up for the texts; they are everything from exercises and gentle reminders to do your exercises daily to a guide on where you should be in the healing/recovery process and when you should be off pain meds. I wholeheartedly recommend Dr. G and his staff and if I ever need another one, even if I don't live in the area any more, I would come back just to have him do it. He's an asset to hip replacement!

Dr. Gerlinger is a great surgeon. My hip replacement surgery exceeded my expectations. I had my surgery on Feb 10 and had minimal pain by Feb 17. Dr. Gerlinger’s team is extremely responsive as well. All around a great experience for major surgery.

Doctor Gerlinger and his staff were excellent. His his suggestion of a partial replacement save me a lot of pain pain and time in recuperating. I'd recommend him to anyone.
