Had knee replacement surgery and spent one night in the hospital. The staff was very friendly and attentive. After I was discharged I received daily text messages from Drs office checking on my progress providing videos of exercise I where I should be for 6 weeks after surgery. They were very helpful and kept me movidated.

I decided to engage the services of Tad Gerlinger MD (Midwest Orthopaedics at Rush) to perform hip replacement surgery because of a favorable recommendation of a good friend. Every step of my journey, before, during, and after surgery, was handled with efficiency, professionalism, courtesy, and outstanding communication by Dr. Gerlinger and his entire staff. Emails and phone calls were answered promptly and no questions were unanswered. Dr. Gerlinger provided a written, comprehensive and detailed outline and explanation of the process from pre-op advice through post-op therapy. I am three weeks into rehab and I am amazed by my progress thus far. I am fortunate to have very little pain or discomfort, owing, I believe, to the prep and precautions taken before, during, and after surgery. I look forward to getting back to my active lifestyle very soon.

Dr Gerlinger did an excellent job with my total knee replacement, exceeding my expectations. Dr. Gerlinger and his staff were very friendly and professional. They communicated extremely well during the pre and post surgical process. Dr. Gerlinger’s daily text messages were very timely and informative. I was very satisfied with the entire process.

I would like to take this opportunity to express my gratitude for the amazingly outstanding care and treatment I received from Dr. Tad Gerlinger and his team! First, I want to mention the text messages we received daily, pre-op and post-op, oftentimes more than one…What doctor does that?!?!? The text messages were very encouraging and the timing was always perfect. What’s vitally important to me is to know that I’m cared for. Love is not what one says, it’s what one does. Dr. Gerlinger loves his patience!!! I had a Total knee Replacement Revision performed by Dr. Tad Gerlinger September 26, 2022. I didn’t have not one moment of fear or anxiety. If I had a question or concern it was promptly addressed through a text (timely) or a returned phone call from his nurse Kelly. My surgery was amazing! My leg didn’t bruise and I had some swelling that didn’t last long…WOW!! Every challenge I faced (falling, pain, sleepless nights etc.) before the surgery is in my past. I’m now embracing my future and my new knee with joy!!! :)

Very pleased with the information I received on my recent visit. Quite impressed with Dr. Gerlinger and his staff. I felt my examination was thorough. I agree with the doctor’s approach concerning the condition of my knee. Glad I took the shot. It’s helping already.

Dr Tad Gerlinger did a total right hip replacement in March 2020. on my wife .My wife had a Laminectomy to relieve an impingement at L4.L5in February 2020 about 3 weeks prior to our first visit with Dr Gerlinger and although at first he said he did not have an opening for three months when he checked his surgery schedule he found an open slot in three days and said he could do the surgery in three days. He never explained that major surgeries should not be performed sooner than 3 months as the body has not healed in 3 weeks and there is a greater risk for complications when there has not been enough time to heal. My wife after 7 weeks post hip replacement never experienced pain relief and with each step she had severe pain. Dr Gerlinger never referred her to a pain specialist during that time period and when finally when I was able to get her the pain specialist he expressed anger that She was not referred sooner by Dr Gerlinger .My wife had never been referred to Physical therapy which I understand is a critical part of the post operative therapy and ia standard of care according to most Orthopedic Surgeons and Physical therapists.. When we saw Dr Gerlinger in 2 follow up visits he was not very interested in her and in fact at the last visit he said "that we could come back weekly if we wanted to but that Medicare would not pay for the visits and he stood up and walked out of the room clearly not caring about my wifes pain and not providing her with a followup. He was rude and for what ever reason had no caring of her disappointment with the visit and lis lack of empathy

Dr. Brett Levine is my orthopedic surgeon. He is very knowledgeable, always puts me at ease. His examination is thorough and he always gives me confidence in my knee revision. I am very satisfied with the results that I have from my operation. my prognosis is good! Couldn’t ask for a better doctor.

Dr. Gerlinger and his staff made sure that the preparation prior to surgery and the surgery itself made the entire process very easy. The daily text messages were very helpful in preparing for surgery and most certainly for healing and rehabilitation after surgery. I feel so much better than I did before surgery, thanks to the daily excercises and physical therapy. I am very happy with the level of care that I received.
