I am writing to recommend Dr. Gerlinger for hip replacement surgery. I had my hip replaced in the summer 2022. I am so grateful for his expertise and his excellent staff. It could not have been a better experience. Dr. Gerlinger took the time to explain my options to me in detail, and he answered all of my questions. He also made me feel very comfortable and at ease. The surgery went smoothly, and I was able to go home the same day. I had almost no pain in the days following surgery. I am now 12 months post-surgery, and I am doing great! I have no pain, and I am able to walk, run, anything I want. I practically forget I even have a new hip. I am so grateful to Dr. Gerlinger and his amazing staff! He is an excellent surgeon, and he truly cares about his patients. I would highly recommend him to anyone who is considering hip replacement.

I read Dr. Gerlinger’s reviews and made an appointment for an examination. The X-rays confirmed that my knee was bone on bone with bone fragments. Dr. Gerlinger recommended a partial knee replacement and we scheduled the date on my timeframe. I also had two injections to relieve the pain until surgery was performed. I completed the partial knee replacement and am currently 6 weeks into the recovery process. I used a minimal amount of pain medication, was walking without a walker within a few days and have enjoyed a very speedy recovery. Kudos to Dr. Gerlinger and his team at Midwest Orthopedics. All of the personnel from scheduling through the PT therapist were outstanding. I especially appreciated the PT team and highly recommend using a Rush/Midwest Ortho facility. I did not expect such a positive outcome from this surgery. I recommend Dr. Gerlinger and all of the Midwest Ortho team for your consideration. Many thanks to those pro’s.

I had my left hip replaced in June of 2023 with Dr. Gerlinger / Midwest Orthopedics at the Rush Oak Brook Surgical Center. The pre-op preparation was very orderly and thorough. The billing went smoothly. On the day of the procedure, I went into surgery at 7:30 and walked out at 10:30. Post-operatively they checked in on me twice. At 5 weeks I had an in person meeting. Everything looked and felt great. PT has been moving me along steadily. Dr. Tad and his team at Oak Brook are great option for hip replacements. I'm walking miles at a time these days thanks to them.

Dr Gerlinger did a partial knee replacement for both my left and right knee 10 months apart in 2022. Replacements went well as outpatient. Post operation follow up was good, letting me know what to expect and where my progress should be.

I’m 6 weeks out after partial knee replacement. Dr Gerlinger and his team especially Kelly made me feel so comfortable with all aspects of this journey. The entire team always was so polite, happy, and ready to do whatever they could to make me more comfortable. I put this off for years and suffered needlessly. I’m well on my way to being pain free. I was able to get into Dr. Gerlinger quickly and had no trouble finding the place. Dr. Gerlinger took his time and explained everything to me in detail. He answered any and all of my questions that I had. He is not a Dr. that surgery is the first or only option. He is very knowledgeable and explained my X-rays and MRI thoroughly.

If you need hip replacement, Dr. Gerlinger and his team is the place to go at Midwest Orthopedics at Rush. I had hip replacement surgery 16 May '23 and his process was comprehensive toward making one whole. Diagnosis, to pre op, surgery, post surgery, all carefully thought out and communicated with the patient. He uses minimally invasive technique, my incision was only 4.5 ". His skill is amazing; my outcome is that I can do almost anything now( 6 weeks post). I found Dr. Gerlinger and his entire team in any situation I had, to be available, caring, knowledgeable and prompt. An example in addition to Dr. Gerlinger's skill, I needed an Rx refilled--called at 8 AM and my Walgreens had it by 10; also I got two text messages every day with helpful information and encouragement.

If there were more stars I would also give those to Dr Gerlinger. He has assembled the most amazing medical staff that are very professional and so caring. Kelly, Alissa, Ilene and Jomary, along with the entire staff at RUSH are incredible and treat you with utmost respect. It was an easy decision to choose Dr. Gerlinger especially after reading his biography and discovering all about his military and medical accomplishments. I salute you Colonel and have to say it was an honor having you as my Physician ????. From the awesome daily emails, to the answered returned phone calls, to the timely office visits, you and your staff at RUSH are truly the very BEST!!
