I met with Dr Gerlinger about left knee pain. He and a colleague spent a lot of time with me explaining his recommended procedure and answering all my questions. Was very attentive and I didn’t feel rushed at all. I will be having surgery in a few months so hoping to be pain free soon after!

I had my hip replaced in early April of this year. Three weeks after the surgery, I was feeling so well that I overdid it – my fault entirely! But that set me back. My husband and I were concerned about the injury. When I visited for my second postoperative visit, Dr. Gerlinger was extremely defensive. We wandered what the injury was and his response was I am not a muscle doctor! He never even looked at the site of injury! Although apparently very proficient at hip surgery, I wonder about his ability to handle any complications that must come up at times! We were both very surprised at his response! In fact, when he said he was not a muscle doctor, that took me by surprise. For a surgeon that must cut through muscle or work around muscles, I think his response was very inappropriate. One star for follow-up!!!

In the depth of the COVID crisis, Dr. Gerlinger and his staff Provided a safe and comforting experience. I consulted 4 surgeons before choosing Dr. Gerlinger. He exhibited both expertise and understanding of my concerns and none if the dismissiveness shown by others. I am now 6 week post- surgery and by all metrics I am progressing nicely. Check back in a year.

Very knowledgeable and extraordinarily skilled surgeon. My first joint replacement surgery (hip) went extremely well and post OP recovery was better than expected. When I went to my 3 week check I had several questions on a note pad. Dr. Gerlinger took the time to listen and answer all my questions. I also have to mention his staff. They were always courteous and informative.

I am a 75 year old who wasn’t totally comfortable with the examinations and recommendations of two orthopedic surgeons. After a recommendation from one of Dr Gerlinger’s knee replacement patients, I sought a third opinion from Dr. Gerlinger. The evaluation was significantly more thorough and the diagnosis more detailed than previous examinations. Based on my exam I was presented with a partial knee replacement option. I opted to go with the partial and followed pre-op exercise routines in preparation for the surgery. Surgery was performed June 15th. The following day I could have walked out of Rush without a cane but per hospital protocol I was wheeled out. I was properly advised to follow pain management protocols. I was told not doIng so might be very painful. I followed protocol. I just had my three week exam and I couldn’t be happier with my progress. I have been following post op PT routines and started physical therapy sessions 6 days after surgery. The sessions are going great. In fact my therapist mentioned my range of motion after 2-3 weeks was equal to or better than full knee replacement patients after 6 weeks. I know this has been an exceptionally positive review. However this is my experience. My wife and I quickly felt confident Dr Gerlinger and his staff were the right choice. My outcome is validation.

After dealing with pain for ten years Dr. Gerlinger has given me the great news that it’s time to replace my hip. Though I will have my nerve damage to deal with the function of my hip will improve. He’s a very kind doctor and very knowledgeable!

Dr. Gerlinger was my surgeon for my knee replacement. He is so kind and informative. His nurse (Kelly) and office staff are thorough, professional and kind. They get back to me via the phone in less than an hour when I have questions. They actually invite my questions. Doctor Gerlinger is great, and I would most highly recommend him for minimally invasive total knee replacement.

Im leaving a five star review for Dr. Gerlinger and his team. The best comment actually came from my daughter who described the team as a well oiled machine. Everything was extremely professional from the initial analysis to the knee surgery to the recovery process. At the same time, the care was personal and all my questions were answered. My knee was quickly back to normal, and I would highly recommend Dr. Gerlinger.
