I am six weeks post op with -1 degrees of full extension and 130 degrees of flexion. I had little pain after surgery. Was off the oxycodone in two days. I did my exercises but did not struggle. My balance was more difficult. Obviously his skill level and knowledge are responsible for the low levels of pain and full range of motion of the knee. I also appreciated his treatment of me even though I am over 80 years old. Everyone treated me as functional adult. Due to my profession, I did not need his timely messages, I did think they were very helpful and encouraging. While I am thankful that I do not need another knee replacement I would highly recommend to anyone. Actually I have recommended him to my church family, my gym buddies, my friends, etc. I am very grateful for his expertise, his follow up and that he works at Rush.

A most sincere thank you to Dr. Gerlinger and his staff. My partial knee replacement by Dr Gerlinger at the Rush Oakbrook facility was an excellent experience start to finish. Dr. Gerlinger is a consummate professional. He is kind, efficient, knowledgeable, and most of all, incredibly skilled. My pain was minimal, due to his thorough and easily understood medication regimen. I subscribed to his optional text series and loved it. It answered questions before I could ask them, and it was encouraging and supportive. I looked forward to receiving those 2-3 texts every day to see what new information they’d provide. It was a terrific additional service to have. Both Kelly and Alissa have been wonderful to work with. They have been great resources for information. Ilene helped me by phone several times in the most thoughtful and kind way. Truly a wonderful staff of professionals.

I was thrilled with my replacement experience. It was much easier than I thought it would be. Believe it or not I played golf 9 holes in 3.5 weeks after my surgery. I recommend the PT pre therapy it really helped. The Rush therapists were great. Tracy and Noelle had a great plan for my knee.

Dr. Gerlinger and his team performed a partial knee replacement, and I couldn’t be happier with the result. Four days after surgery, I was walking without any device assistance. I was off narcotics within 10 days and never needed to take any opiods. Over several weeks, I had a handful of questions which were submitted via email and responded to within an hour or two. Dr. Gerlinger arranged to have many texts sent regarding pre and post surgery suggestions. They were mostly educational, though partly motivational. In my opinion, they were very timely and helpful since they dealt with things I was encountering.

This is my 89 year old mother's doctor. She is a wonderful doctor. She takes her time, listens to your concerns, and makes sure that you understand everything during your visit. My mom loves her and would recommend her to everyone.

Dr Gerlinger is a world class surgeon. He also has excellent people skills and knows how to put anxious patients at ease when they are in pain and need medical assistance. I know others who have also been treated by him and will also compliment his surgical and bedside skills. There is no one else I would recommend to do a knee or hip replacement on for friends or family.
